Nhan Dan – Nearly 200,000 more tonnes of rice exported in the first half of this month, make up around 2.9 million tonnes of rice exported worth earning around US$1.3 billion since early this year, according to the Vietnam Food Association. The autumn-summer rice has started to be harvested in the Mekong Delta region. Unhusked rice price has seen a slight decrease this week over the previous week, to around VND 4,250 – 4,350 per kilogramme. Rice is sold at between VND 5,650 and VND 5,750 per kilogramme.

 Exported rice price averages US$513.43 a tonne, an year-on-year increase of around 8.5%. It is on a downward trend while the demand for imported rice is still low.
