Philippines Rice Inventory Up 1.1% In June

 Philippines rice importer, has enough rice inventory to last for 93 days, according to the Bureau of Agricultural Statistics (BAS), an agency of the Department of Agriculture. In a report posted on its website, BAS said the country's total rice stocks reached 3.36 million metric tons as of June 1 this year. The volume surpassed by 1.1 percent the level in April. It was also 25.1 percent higher than the year-ago level. Compared to the level in the same period last year, the National Food Authority's (NFA) rice stocks, which are mostly imported, grew 54 percent while those in commercial warehouses were higher by 2.7 percent. Stocks in households dropped by 1.4 percent.

 BAS said that as of June 1, 2010, the total volume of rice stocks would be enough for 93 days.

Rice stocks in NFA depositories would be good for 53 days while those in the commercial sector would be good for 13 days
